Abstract. Sukarno N, Mursidawati S, Listiyowati Nugraha NH, Fadillah WN, Waite M. 2023. Root associated Fusarium solani Species Complex (FSSC) in epiphytic and terrestrial orchids. Biodiversitas 24: 2577-2586. Members of the are ecologically diverse, covering human plant pathogens, saprobes, endophytic fungi economically important plants. The role FSSC on tropical orchids, however, has received little attention. This research aimed to isolate identify found as endophytes roots orchids Cymbidium finlaysonianum Lindl. Vanda tricolor Lindl., Calanthe triplicata (Willemet) Ames Phaius tankervilleae (Banks) Blume. Fungal isolation was obtained from peloton structures within root. identification done using combined morphological molecular characteristics ITS rDNA sequences. Four isolates were identified based characteristics. BLAST analysis showed that all (FSSC). Further phylogenetic relationship indicated belonged FSSC5 lineage or sensu stricto, which is nested clade 3 a subgroup. F. stricto V2 CF34 isolated C5 P44 It interesting form different groups than those first report showing host this broadens known range ecological behavior FSSC5.

Four new Fusarium species from Fusarium solani species complex isolated from soil

One hundred isolates of Fusarium solani species complex were isolated and identified from 58 agricultural soil samples collected from different geographical regions in Kermanshah, Hamadan and Kurdistan provinces of Iran. Based on morphological characteristics, Fusarium falciforme, F. petroliphilum, F. keratoplasticum and F. pseudensiforme, are reported for the first time from Iran.

New species of Tulasnella associated with terrestrial orchids in Australia

Recent studies using sequence data from eight sequence loci and coalescent-based species delimitation methods have revealed several species-level lineages of Tulasnella associated with the orchid genera Arthrochilus, Caleana, Chiloglottis, and Drakaea in Australia. Here we formally describe three of those species, Tulasnella prima, T. secunda, and T. warcupii spp. nov., as well as an additional...

Phylogeny and genetic diversity of Fusarium graminearum species complex associated with Fusarium head blight of wheat in Moghan plain (Iran)

Thirty-seven isolates of Fusarium graminearum species complexobtained from wheat heads with Fusarium head blight symptoms were selected and used for phylogenetic studies. They were collected from different localities of Moghan plain (Ardebil province, Iran). Partial sequences of translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF), putative reductase (RED) and UTP-ammonia ligase (URA) genes were amplifi...

Detection of the fumonisin-producing Fusarium fujikuroi species complex (FFSC) associated with wild grasses in Iran

In order to determine the fumonisin producingisolates of the Fusarium fujikuroi species complex (FFSC), associated with infected spikes, and ear rot of grass plants, we examined 78 samples collected from Kermanshah province, Iran. Based on morphological characters, twenty two isolates assigned to the FFSC and were identified as F. proliferatum (ten isolates), F. verticillioides (seven isolates)...

During a 4 mo epizootic, 100% of 152 lined seahorses Hippocampus erectus in 3 separate groups died while in quarantine following shipment to a public aquarium. Twelve animals with skin depigmentation and ulceration were received by the Aquatic Pathology Service, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, USA, for diagnostic evaluation. Microscopically, lesions in 11...
